MCP

MCP

Streamable HTTP on mcpbrain, or stdio via @valorbrain/connect. Bearer vbm_ or OAuth 2.1.

ValorBrain exposes a Model Context Protocol server.

  • Transport: Streamable HTTP
  • Endpoint: https://mcpbrain.valor.digital/mcp
  • Auth: OAuth 2.1 (dynamic client registration) or Authorization: Bearer vbm_…
  • Protocol: 2025-11-25 (see the server card)

HTTP (Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf)

Clients that speak Streamable HTTP:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "valorbrain": {
      "url": "https://mcpbrain.valor.digital/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer vbm_<your-token>"
      }
    }
  }
}

Claude Code:

claude mcp add --transport http valorbrain https://mcpbrain.valor.digital/mcp

Then authenticate (OAuth) or add the bearer header in the client's config.

Clients with OAuth 2.1 DCR discover auth from:

https://mcpbrain.valor.digital/.well-known/oauth-authorization-server

stdio (via CLI)

Clients that only speak stdio:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "valorbrain": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@valorbrain/connect", "--token", "vbm_<your-token>"]
    }
  }
}

@valorbrain/connect is a published alias of valorbrain mcp. It is not a separate protocol.

First calls

  1. tools/list — trust the live schema, not a screenshot.
  2. whoami — confirm tenant and user. Stop if either is wrong.
  3. memory_retrieve or memory_prepare — then memory_used.

The default agent toolset is the working set. It is not the full catalog. See MCP tools.

What not to do

  • Do not point REST at mcpbrain. /search there is not search.
  • Do not send a vb_agent_ key as an MCP bearer. MCP tokens start with vbm_.
  • Do not call the deprecated tool store. The canonical write is memory_store.
