Authenticate with OAuth when prompted, or put a vbm_ token in the client's header config. Then:

npx @valorbrain/cli init --agent --agent-caller claude-code

The CLI key is for REST (add / search). The MCP connection is a vbm_ token or OAuth. You can use both: CLI for shell, MCP for in-editor tools.

Contract we install

When you use the public harness repo (ValorBrain/valorbrain-harness) for Claude-family editors, the standing instruction is the same quality loop: consult ValorBrain before answering operational questions; call memory_used after.

whoami → memory_prepare or working_context → work → memory_store for anything durable → memory_used.
